John Edwards, DC, DACCP is a pregnancy and pediatric chiropractor, ICPA Diplomate and Instructor, serving Cape Coral and the surrounding communities in FL.
Dr. John Edwards graduated with honors from both Truman State University (2000) and Palmer College of Chiropractic- Davenport (2004) and has completed the Webster Certification course four times since 2008. His practice, Mama’s Chiropractic Clinic, focuses on perinatal and pediatric chiropractic care in two Southwest Florida locations. Dr. Edwards earned the Diplomate in pregnancy and pediatric practice (DACCP) through the Academy of Chiropractic Family Practice and Chiropractic Pediatrics and International Chiropractic Pediatric Association in 2018. Two additional training programs, the Spinning Babies & Integral Touch of Birth (resulting in the Spinning Babies Aware Practitioner designation SpBAP) and Brain DC’s 100 hour chiropractic functional neurology series, have been instrumental in formulating his unique approach to perinatal practice.
Dr. Edwards pioneered a relationship with the ICPA to be their first center for clinical pregnancy research, and subsequently amassed and organized the largest data set on chiropractic during the perinatal period in the world. He represents the ICPA at the Association for Chiropractic Colleges Research Agenda Conference and has published 14 case reports and original papers in peer-reviewed journals. His work has been part of a conscious strategy to build the body of evidence for the safety and efficacy of chiropractic care in the perinatal period through case reports and participation in the design of several large scale multi-clinic studies.
Dr. Edwards loves engaging people in conversations about salutagenesis and conscious living. This passion helped him build one of the largest Pathways Connect groups associated with the Pathways to Family Wellness magazine and leads him to teach around the country.
On a personal level Dr. Edwards loves exploring his adopted home state of Florida, as most any transplanted Midwesterner would. He enjoys the parenting adventure with his son Forrest and has a deep love for sailing, Renaissance festivals, and cinema.
