Research Case Study Online Course and Research Case Study Paper Requirements Overview

The Diplomate Research Case Study track is the greatest contribution to the validation and efficacy of chiropractic care for children or pregnant women. Of the three tracks, it requires no travel and minimal expense.

It involves and on-line Research Case Study Course in which you you prepare a paper for publication.

  • You will be registered for an on-line Case Study Course
  • Upon completion of the course and your paper you will submit your paper to the ICPA for peer review by the ICPA Research director, Dr. Joel Alcantara
  • Our expectation is that you create and abstract of your case study. is that you start writing a Research Case Study Paper. You will be working with the ICPA Research director, Dr. Joel Alcantara, on the several paper drafts until the paper is ready for publication.
  • Please read about the patient consent form and abstract.
  • You will also prepare a poster presentation of the Case Study Abstract for the ICPA Freedom For Family Wellness Summit.

 

Case Study Research Program Mission: The ICPA has teamed up with Dr. Matthew McCoy to offer you a Case Study Research Program (RSCH 101). The purpose of this program is to teach you how to write up a case study and submit it for publication to a peer reviewed research journal.
Case Study Research Program Description: In this course you will prepare a written clinical case study. You will be taught the selection of an appropriate clinical case, a thorough review of the elements of a case study report, how to review the appropriate literature for the reference section, and the systematic construction of the report will be covered in a combination lecture and self study format. It is expected that the paper will meet the technical requirements for consideration to publish in a peer reviewed research journal.

The Case Study Research Guidelines and Registration Information: The entire course consists of 12 hours of online presentations in the form of Modules. There are a total of 5 Modules. Total cost is $500 and will include a textbook, case study online form, one line course, e-mail support and one-on-one coaching. There are 5 Modules, the 5 Module titles are:

Module 2: Review of a Case Study Research Report
Module 3: Literature Searching & Databases
Module 4: Getting Published
Module 5: The Importance of Research to the Chiropractic Profession

ICPA postgraduate department will register you for the course and send you an e-mail course registration receipt.

The goal at the end of this course is completion of a case study research paper on one of your patients. At a minimum, the paper must meet the technical requirements of a peer reviewed research journal as outlined in the class notes and lecture materials. This paper will then be posted on the ICPA Diplomate Research Writing Forum. Registration for the ICPA Diplomate Research Writing Forum is required and then submission of your paper to the Diplomate Research Writing Forum for peer review from the Academy moderators.

  • Spinal and cranial adjustments of all techniques are applicable.

  • Chiropractic care for pregnancy relating to improved quality of life, better birth outcome.

  • Chiropractic care for all ages of children resulting in resolution of symptoms or improved quality of function and life.

  • Theories relating to clinical results.

  • Developments of new protocols related to existing adjusting protocols taught in the ICPA classes.

  • Nutrition/ homeopathy/ acupuncture, movement therapy, etc care in combination with chiropractic adjustments.

  • Case results including collaboration with other providers.
